Our top tips
Strength in numbers
While this is primarily a solo challenge in order to adhere to government regulations you can still encourage your friends, family or work mates to sign up. Don't forget your community of virtual teammates either. The more of you doing it the more motivation you’ll have to get stepping. You could always add in a bit of healthy competition too...
Focus on the cause
When the temptation to stop is getting too strong take a moment to remind yourself why you’re doing this. We need your help more than ever to support people with asthma. Try repeating the phrase ‘stepping up for asthma’. You’re doing something incredible. Some days it may seem hard, but you can do it!
Spread the word
Tell everyone you know that you’ve signed up to The Asthma UK Step Challenge. The more people that know, the more donations you’ll get!
Personalise your page
It’s a really good idea to personalise your fundraising page. Add a few sentences on why you’re taking on this challenge and why it’s important to you.
Share your fundraising link
Whether it’s through email, WhatsApp or good old fashion talking, make sure that everyone knows about your fundraising page.
Make it fun
Why not encourage your friends to donate by giving them something in return. You could put on a virtual quiz and ask everyone to donate in return for an entertaining evening. If you'd like tips on how to do this, email firstname.lastname@example.org and we'll be happy to help.
Gift Aid it
Remind your friends and family to Gift Aid their donation when they sponsor you. This adds an extra 25% to every donation at no extra cost to you or your sponsors.
